Monmouth outplayed Brick far more than the score indicates... they are a big, fast, talented team. What do you think are their chances at Howell tuesday?

i'm glad to see monmouth win. after their "victory" against lakewood, it's good to see them get it together.

as far as their chances against howell, it's going to come down to their midfield play. if flynn and dutra come to play, i wouldn't put an upset past them.

squan did not give up. bethel scored 2 goals -- 1 on a counter after a corner to make 2-0 w/ 7 mins to go and then a great turn and hit to score to make 3-0. no "like" quit.

Jackson beats Red Bank on PK's after a scoreless 100 minutes. Morgans was just too much for Red Bank in PK's. Jackson puts two of first three in and REB couldn't finish one.

Howell may put three or four up on Monmouth but MR will surely put up more than one. Look for a 3-2 Howell win or a 3-3 game go into OT... Matt, what do you think about that game?

I agree that monmouth can score, but if dutra isnt healthy than the monmouth doesnt have too much firepower. Mackins goals come because of dutra.

Marlboro over CBA? Matt before you jump on the Marlboro bandwagon, consider that CBA is recognized for playing the best possession soccer in the SCT. There is a reason for this. CBA has depth of skilled talent and it reflects itself on the pitch. No team has been able to play "soccer" with CBA. The Howell games were both very close. At CBA, Howell won because of a mental letdown moment that Howell exploited. At Howell, CBA went to overtie and missed a couple of chances. The early Freehold loss was also very close and but for a nice strike by Connor Egan it might have been different. The Manalapan loss was just ugly because CBA did not show up to play that day on Manalapan's ugly field.

CBA's wins have been mostly close by score, but not by play. The reason is CBA builds its attack from the back and comes forward together going east and west. It creates a "seige" of the opponent. From there they seek opportunities to score. Its difficult because of the shear number of bodies in the box cutting down angles. Even if they are behind, CBA remains very patient and does not succumb to the temptation to break their style of play. Yes, they allow scoring off counters at times, but no team that has played "soccer" with them has "beat" them. CBA's play also lifts the play of their opponents.

Marlboro, on the other hand, has skilled players who know how to play, but they tend to be scizophrenic lapsing into kick and runs at times. The game vs TRE was ugly HS soccer. CBA does not get drawn into that with the consequence that they play nice organized possession ball and they usually win. I don't think the 3 times a charm notion works in this case because of the consistentcy CBA has shown in their style of game. CBA will win in a close score.

what happened when CBA barely got by one win middletown south in both games. In the first game south had the lead until late in the first half, then cba finished it with .2 seconds. The next meeting cba let south back in the game with 2 quick goals from a team that could not manage any goals all year. In the first meeting marlboro also barely edged south but then late in the season they took care of business handly beating them, now they continue to roll.
