Game 2 Live

Howell 5, Marlboro 2, Final.

Update: Jack Parkin scored to make it 4-2, but Eric O'Neill scored 13 seconds later to push it to 5-2 with 10:26 left.

Bethel scored what looks to be the capper in the 63rd. Blowout watch is back on.

Katona and Billy Kappock score within two minutes of each other to put Howell up 3-1 with 27:00 to play. Howell has not allowed more than two goals in any game this year. This Marlboro run is in serious jeopardy.

Sam Nunes banged home a rebound attempt 1:31 before the half to tie it at 1. Gorskie sent in a free kick from 45-yards, Stone took the first shot, and Nunes ripped it in. Blowout watch is over for the moment.

Chris Katona scored off a feed from Eric O'Neill in the 11th minute. The concensus in the press box is that Katona was offsides, but certainly debatable. The last game started with Quintano scoring in the 11th minute. We're officially on blowout watch.

My son plays in this league(Township), and watching this game, moving Calafiore into the middle to control the game was the instrumental turning point as Howell dominated the game from that point forward. He caused a lot of opportunities for his team and they made the finishes needed for the win. Gorskie couldn’t keep up with Calafiore in the mid field; he didn't have the stamina, energy or skill that Calafiore presented for the entire 90 minutes. Calafiore, while in the mid, attacked, marked and defended and watching him get either 2 or 3 of the assists on 5 goals scored with all of the opportunities created coming off of starts from him, Marlboro needed to do a better job marking him and shutting him down but didn’t, end result, Howell moves on to finals and hopefully beats Pan.

Calafiore has played forward every time I seen him this year. He is the forward, right Matt?

I'm sorry, I watched the game and I did not see the dominance by calafiore that a previos poster saw. He missed an open net early on and he did not set up all 5 goals. he is a good player though. Gorski did have two assists and almost had two more. Marlboro had an awesome run. Wait till next year or better yet states.

this reminds me of the nj state wide boys soccer forum . . . someone posts something about a player so they can come back on at a later time to discredit or bash a players skills. calafiore is good, gorskie is good, Noesges is good, kappock is good, kb is good, morgan is good, quintano is good ... consistency is not always there, even in the pros so come on, high school is the time of your life get over yourself parents, the kids all like each other and get along, why don't you all sit back and enjoy your kids and the kids around them.

right, Cody has played forward in many games, but in those sames games he has switched to center midfielder when needed to, he is not picky about where he plays and does what Yuro wants and needs him to, he is a f/m. He had 3 assists in the semi against marlboro (bethels, kappocks and o'neills)even though paper didn't have it down, those are the stats and the facts. anything else?
